CANTERBURY PUBLIC health physician Winston McKean has been appointed chairman of the Primary Health Care (PHC) Strategy and Primary Health Organisation (PHO) Development Taskforce. The taskforce was established earlier this year, with representatives from 16 different groups concerned about primary health care. They include the Ministry of Health, NZNO, the independent Practitioners' Association Nurse Development Group, the College of Nurses Aotearoa and district health boards (DHBs).
