It was the largest capital improvement the park had made in its 95-year history.

Dubbed "Saturation Station," the interactive water-play system cost "well over" $1 million, says George Frantizis II, vice president and co owner of Quassy Amusement Park. That's hardly chump change for the seasonal 25-acre, 25-ride family amusement park located in Middlebury, Conn.

Saturation Station is not the park's first water attraction. Three years ago, it installed a whitewater "Big Flush" water coaster that is both wet and dry. But park guests wanted more water elements, recalls Frantizis.
