When rock musician Tommy Lee was found to be "not negligent" earlier this year in the drowning death of a 4-year-old boy who attended a party at his home, he appropriately stated that "there are no winners in this sad situation."
The former Motley Crue drummer was sued fur $10 million by the parents of the boy who drowned at the Malibu, Calif., pool party thrown by Lee for his son's fifth birthday in June 2001. No lifeguard was on duty for the 15 to 20 young party-goers; the victim had been accompanied by his nanny. The lawsuit alleged that Lee should have anticipated the risks of children at poolside, and provided life vests or hired a lifeguard.
