PHILADELPHIA -- The ancient Chinese herb fo-ti has estradiol-like activity in laboratory tests, Dr. Karen Klein said in a poster presentation at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society.
The discovery is a first-time finding and adds fo-ti to the list of potential natural alternatives to estrogen replacement therapy for the possible treatment of menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, said Dr. Klein of the University of California, San Diego.
