The article "Combination HRT Linked to Dementia in Older Women" (July 1, 2003, p. 1) was based on a JAMA report (289[20]:2651-62, 2003) that presented only figures and nothing about how the women lived, whether singly in nursing homes or with families where intergenerational interactions surely played a big role. And if the increase in dementia was the result of vascular accidents, then that should have been specified.
