IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS since Scott Rolen left the only organization he had ever known, the Philadelphia Phillies, for what has been termed "baseball heaven" in St. Louis.

Rolen says he has passed the point where he is merely an ex-Phillie. He has felt like a Cardinal for a good while now, but memories--good and bad--will remain with him forever.

In the six games played between the Cardinals and Phillies earlier in the season, each club won three games while Rolen hit .400 (8-for-20) with seven RBI.

Rolen, though he is a career .415 hitter against the Phillies, admitted he was glad when the stretch of games against Philadelphia was over.
