The leisure pool of the new millennium offers different aquatic venues and recreation space that is flexible enough to be enjoyed in a variety of ways, depending on the time of day and the user. As a complement to a resort or hotel, the leisure pool experience becomes an extension of the stay.
For many people, the lure of the water will be the main attraction of their visit. Whether the stay is part of a family vacation, a relaxing stop on a road trip, an extension of a convention or the perk of a business trip, the leisure pool will offer a refuge to kick back, relax and enjoy the restful allure of water.
In contrast to other aquatics center venties, this outdoor dream leisure pool, designed with the Harrison Hoffman Design Group, provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy the water. Thrill rides and high-spirited water action found at today's waterparks are not characteristic of the new leisure pool. Instead, generous areas of trees and shrubbery provide shade and absorb sound. The large areas of green space along with flower beds present an aesthetically pleasing environment.
Walking paths, deck areas and vertical surfaces are colored and textured to mimic scenes in nature. The type of flora, presentation and selection of the landscape represents a local feature or an environment from another area of the world. Natural landscaping is central to this leisure pool design in contrast to the sometimes brightly themed waterpark facility.
Whether enjoying the experience as an individual, as part of a group or family, or as a group of newly made friends, guests will find the leisure pool provides choices for all occasions. To the individual, a stay in the spa, a cool-water swim and an escape to the lounge provide the perfect aquatic activity.
Children will find passive play at a spray pool; adventures on an aquatic exploration trail; and quiet spots on enchanted islands--all within view of their parents, who might enjoy a relaxing afternoon lounging on nearby sun decks.
For teenagers, the leisure pool offers a tube ride social; surfing in the wave pool; a water polo game; or an afternoon of sand volleyball. Young adults and parents can take refuge and relax in the spa while overlooking the leisure pool. After the stay in the spa, a glide down the rapids slide to the splashdown pool is a refreshing experience.
