* Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally set for Saturday and Sunday
Up, up and away for Valentine's Day is what many balloonists will be doing Saturday and Sunday in Rio Rancho.
The 29th annual Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally will begin around 6:45 a.m. both days at the Rio Rancho Balloon Court, located at Northern and Idalia.
Carolyn Grantham, co-chair of the Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally, said members of event-host Albuquerque Aristat Ascension Association felt a need for a balloon lift after the Balloon Fiesta held in Albuquerque changed its event date from February to October.
