THE HEALTH Select Committee's call last month for a review of funding for the aged-care sector has been welcomed by NZNO, other unions and aged-care providers. NZNO, with the Service and Food Workers' Union, has been running a campaign for increased funding over the last 18 months. Campaign co-ordinator, Auckland based organiser Lesley Harry, said the committee's report vindicated the concerns NZNO had raised with the Ministry of Health over the last seven years.
