Experience counts. That's the word from analysts following the homeland security sector.
Clearly, the $41.3 earmarked for homeland security within the 2004 federal budget will mean significant opportunities for many firms. However, the edge is likely to go to those companies that already are working with the government. "What investors need to realize is that government spending doesn't happen quickly, and they don't pick new companies [as vendors] quickly," says J.P. Mark, president of Farmhouse Equity Research.
