Council Will Vote On Operating Budget
Operating Santa Fe's 50-acre railroad yard property is likely to cost city taxpayers nearly $800,000 during the current fiscal year, an expense some city councilors say could have been avoided.
In a split vote Monday, councilors who serve on the city's finance committee approved a proposed budget of $771,200 for operation of the railroad yard.
Councilors Peso Chavez and Frank Montano voted in favor of the proposal while colleague Carol Robertson Lopez rejected it. Councilor Patti Bushee abstained, but since her vote technically counts as a "no," finance committee...
