SAN FRANCISCO -- Dermatologists continued to see more patients and collect more money per patient in 2002, a trend that tracked with steady increases since 1999, reported Bruce S. Mailer at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology
"One of the things you're going to see is a high degree of consistency in terms of improvement in practice performance in the last few years," said Mr. Mailer, president and chief executive officer of BSM Consulting Group of Incline Village, Nev. As an example, he noted that net collections per full-time equivalent (FTE) dermatologist reached a median $1,063,124 in 2002, up from $890,654 in 2001 and $799,484 in 2000.
