Flexible Solutions history stems back to the early 90's when an outdoor education teacher wanted to do more for our environment. Dan O'Brien started Flexible Solutions by taking his fathers idea from the drawing board and putting it into full-scale production, marketing and sales. Dr. Robert O'Brien invented the product 'Heat$avr,' and it lay waiting for years until Dan started testing it in his backyard pool. Dan then started a mini production facility in his garage where the first 'Tropical Fish' were built and tested. Today, the Company is publicly traded on the AMEX and has major production facilities and sales offices in Victoria, BC, Calgary, AB and Chicago, IL. The Tropical Fish are distributed by our North American distributor Sunsolar Energy Technologies. Sales of Heat$avr and Tropical Fish have ballooned over the years and distribution now extends internationally throughout North and South America, Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia. Flexible Solutions' focus has always been water and energy conse rvation, through the use of their evaporation suppressing products. Heat$avr and Tropical Fish are based on the same technology, the difference is in the application method. The Tropical Fish is a little colorful plastic fish that dispenses Heat$avr slowly over the period of 25-30 days; they are designed and marketed to service the residential pool market. Heat$avr is sold by the gallon and can either be applied by hand or by our automatic injection system. These applications are designed for commercial pools of all sizes. When Heat$avr is added to a pool it quickly self-spreads over the surface area of the pool, creating a monomolecular blanket on top of the water. These molecules are so small they are not seen by the naked eye and safely travel through circulation systems and filter media of all types.
