You know how important it is to check your bike's tire pressures regularly, yet this minor maintenance task is one of the--if not the--most neglected. Combine a heavily laden touring or other motorcycle with a slow leak or underinflated tires and you're asking for accelerated tire wear, if not outright disaster. But heck, most motorcycles have warning lights for low oil pressure, high-beam and so on, so why not low tire pressure?

SmarTire Systems, a British company that got its start with tire-warning systems for cars and trucks, has answered that question with the first serious system for bikes. Should the pressure in one of your bike's tires drop below a preset level, an alarm and warning light let you know right away.
