BALTIMORE -- About 44% of U.S. adults are aware that genetic tests exist that can identify people with inherited cancer susceptibility, based on a survey of more than 27,000 people.
But many women with a personal or family history of breast or ovarian cancer were reluctant to undergo testing out of fear of discrimination by insurance companies or employers if they were to have a positive test, according to a survey of 137 women seen at one medical system in Cleveland.
