Clark County Commissioner Rory Reid recently got federal approval to raise money for his dad's re-election effort and raise "soft money" for the Nevada Democratic Party.

But one ethicist pointed out that the Federal Election Commission opinion didn't address the ethics of Rory Reid's own political position.

As a county commissioner, he's in a position so powerful that some people would find it hard to reject his requests that they give to either the campaign of his dad, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, or the Nevada Democratic Party.

"The FEC didn't address: What does it do to his position as county commissioner?" said Craig Walton, a member of the county ethics task force, which recently was reinstated at the behest of Rory Reid and fellow Commissioner Bruce Woodbury....
