On the surface, the success of the Las Vegas Wranglers of the recently expanded ECHL should be as sure a thing as hitting an empty net from just outside the crease. But if the Wranglers plan on being the flagship franchise in the 31-team league, they're going to have to do more than tuck the puck across the goal line.
But commissioner Brian McKenna, whose league stretches from Atlantic City to Alaska and whose initials ECHL no longer stand for "East Coast Hockey League," is betting on Las Vegas to come in a winner.
