School prayer case dropped by ACLU.(news)

The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada and the Clark County School District have settled their dispute over a regulation that allowed prayer at graduation ceremonies.
ACLU lawyer Allen Lichtenstein said the organization has voluntarily dismissed the federal lawsuit it filed in March against the district.
"At this point, we are satisfied that our concerns have been alleviated," Lichtenstein said Friday.
The lawsuit asked for a declaration that the district regulation was unconstitutional and for an injunction to prevent its enforcement.
Three of five trustees present at a Feb. 27 School Board meeting voted to preserve the regulation, which permitted invocations and benedictions at graduations under certain conditions.
