When the Boston reopens today, Las Vegas will see the resurrection of one of the city's dominant spots -- if not the prime, big stage -- for local bands.
And this time the bar has air conditioning.
"To people who came to see the band," at the old Boston, "they didn't want to be in 105 temperature," says Danny Pino, singer of the heavy-rock band Left Standing. "That doesn't matter to us. You just rock out. You're hot, anyway."
The new Boston plans to build on the reputation of the old Boston for having local acts play through a good sound system, more than just about any venue in town.
"There was always something happening through the week at the Boston, not just on Friday and Saturday," Pino says.
