Byline: James Yodice For the Journal
The Salt Lake Buzz have a formula for beating the Albuquerque Dukes, and they're resolutely sticking to it.
For the second straight game, Salt Lake received a great effort from its starting pitcher, then rode a mostly rock-solid bullpen to a 3-2 Pacific Coast League win over the Dukes on Tuesday night at the Sports Stadium before 2,059 fans.
Mark Redman tossed six innings of four-hit ball for the Buzz, giving up one run, and three relievers finished off Albuquerque. Travis Miller earned his ninth save, striking out three in the final 11//3 innings.
Redman (6-6) simply outdueled Albuquerque's Ricky Stone (4-5), who had one of his best outings this year.
Stone scattered eight hits through eight innings, surrendering two earned runs. The eventual winning run, scored by Salt Lake in the eighth to give it a 3-1 lead, was unearned.
"I really mixed it up well, with my fastball and changeup,'' said Stone. "I kept them off-balance. They swing at the first thing they see.''
