The man suspected of killing former Santa Fe County Commissioner Herman Rodriguez faces a preliminary hearing today before a federal magistrate judge.
Prentiss Ivory Davis, 32, of Augusta, Ga., a convicted felon with an extensive record, was arrested Aug. 5 in Columbia, S.C., with a companion as they returned to Rodriguez's charcoal gray Oldsmobile at an apartment complex.
Davis has been in custody since then and was returned to New Mexico by federal marshals to face charges here.
