CRT OR LCD?
Two types of monitor are available for home computers--cathode ray tube (CRT) and liquid crystal display (LCD). LCDs used to be much more expensive than CRTs, but prices are falling, especially for 15 inch screens, and if one suits your needs it might be worth considering.
