Increased IPO volume in the fourth quarter of 2001 brought a bittersweet end to an incredibly dreadful year and, if nothing else, lifted the cloud that hovers above the economy. Analysts predict that during the second half of this year -- provided there are no more sucker punches to the economy -- the market will return to a somewhat normal level.
