What is it about the mix of mountains, forests, water and motorcycles that has such a profound effect on me? When these ingredients are mixed and stirred, it produces the most intoxicating rider stew.

Just west of Denver as I hit 119 north, I found myself riding in the midst of the most beautiful mountains, towering rocky cathedrals that go straight up mere feet from the edge of the delightfully curvy road. In Nederland I hopped on 72 west, which is essentially headed north at this point. The roads and scenery were still great, and I enjoyed a very fine ride indeed. In Raymond, Colorado, Highway 7 north to 34 west carried me a short distance to Estes Park, which is located right by Rocky Mountain National Park.
