Unlike the Olympics, a gold medal isn't awarded to the top finisher at the Quadlympics Dash For Cash at Gravity Park in Chilton, Wis. Instead, the champion of the grueling 10-lap motocross race feels more like they just broke into Fort Knox and left with a fistful of gold bars.

As the two-day event approached the final race and the $2,000 grand prize offered up by Janssen Racing, a swelling interest around the track sent people willingly digging into their pockets, reaching for more cash. Before entrants could blink, contributions from Joel DeNoble Construction ($1,000), Rath Racing ($550), Gravity Park ($500) and Action Trophy ($500)--among other smaller donations--raised the final pot to $5,010.
And, when the checkers flew, the large Wisconsin contingent of fans saw the state's lesser-known golden boy of motocross take home the day's bounty. Cory Gauthier of Janssen Racing rode his hybrid CRF450...
