FONTANA, Calif. -- Racing fans who are also movie buffs had a big day on television Sunday.
If they didn't want to spend their day indoors and opted to record either the Academy Awards or the Auto Club 500, the best choice would have been the NASCAR Nextel Cup race.
That way they could fast-forward through the 3-hour, 34-minute marathon on California Speedway's 2-mile oval and watch only the last three laps, because those 104 seconds provided the day's only excitement.
Most of the race was a 180-mph version of follow-the-leader as a few point men...
