FONTANA, Calif. -- Tony Stewart left a crucial meeting with his team early Friday evening because NASCAR needed him for a live news interview with the biggest television station in the Los Angeles area.
Because LA is the No. 2 television market in the country, he knew how important the exposure would be for his sponsor, The Home Depot.
Stewart had spent much of that day in four practice sessions at California Speedway in preparation for Saturday's NASCAR Busch Series and today's Auto Club 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup races.
