Richard Perez Jr. wanted to join the Marines, and he wanted to go Iraq.
So when the lance corporal from Las Vegas died two weeks ago, his father found comfort in knowing the 19-year-old lost his life doing something he wanted to do.
"His destiny was to go to Iraq, to help all those people, to do all those great things," Richard Perez Sr. said Saturday at his son's memorial.
