Bishop Gorman's fans hoisted Kashif Watson on their shoulders and carried him off the court Friday night chanting "MVP."
He earned every syllable.
Watson had 28 points and seven rebounds to lead the Gaels (31-3) to a 57-45 victory over 2004 champion Palo Verde (22-8) for the Class 4A boys state title in front of an estimated crowd of 6,500 at the Orleans Arena.
