Report doesn't connect with phone companies, regulators.(business)

Nevada's two largest telephone companies were unhappy and unimpressed with an eight-page research that consultants submitted Friday to state legislators.
So were state regulators.
Representatives of SBC Nevada, formerly known as Nevada Bell, and Sprint Corp. criticized the report for speculating on financial consequences of pending regulatory proposals and for recommending a change in a new state telecommunications law.
"We're disappointed with the report," said Rebecca Wagner, a spokeswoman for the Public Utilities Commission. "The recommendations are vague and not practical and don't seem to correlate specifically to Nevada as they should."
