CGA names 2008 Safety Award winners.(News)
The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) named the winners of its 2008 Safety Awards during its Annual Meeting of Members, in April in Chantilly, VA. Every year the association honors member companies for showing dedication to "making the industry safer for employees, distributors, and the public."
The CGA says its more than 125 member companies are dedicated to developing and promoting safety standards and safe practices in the industrial and medical gas industry.
The winners of the Awards are:
* Fleet Safety Excellence Awards: These awards are sponsored by Praxair Inc., and were established "to recognize outstanding safety performance among the industry's bulk and cylinder truck delivery fleets."
Award-winners are selected from among CGA member companies according to their vehicle accident-frequency rates. Four winners are chosen, according to total mileage logged by bulk and cylinder vehicle fleets. Bulk Gas Transportation:
