Rifle range road.(EXERCISING THE RIGHT)(Brief article)
Nikki McCormick, a 21-year-old car thief, was shot in the head by the owner of a car she helped steal. While she lay bleeding in the passenger seat, a second thief, a male suspect, fled on foot, leaving her to die.
The Central Florida News reported that McCormick and her unidentified accomplice stole Jamie Jones' car from his yard, but they weren't quiet enough when they did it, leading to a confrontation with the owner of the car. Jones, who was working inside a building on his property, heard suspicious noises outside, armed himself, and investigated the noises.
The car thieves, in trying to make good their escape, attempted to run down Jones when he came outside in the pre-dawn hours. In fear of his life, Jones shot. McCormick died later after being transported to a local ...
