This document is an extract from the necrology file of the Gaylord Music Library, Washington University, available online at http://library.wustl.edu/units/music/necro/index.html. It comprises those names that are listed in the dictionaries and encyclopedias cited following the double bar (||); note that a few individuals appear in these works under a variant of their name other than that under which they are listed here, or under a group or relative's name. Variant information is given following the initial report of death without any attempt to resolve the conflict. Obituary notices are listed chronologically within each element of the entry.
