Once upon a time, before there was time, the market for wristwatches was sluggish. Today, almost fourteen billion years later, in a universe dense with cell phones, iPods, microwave ovens, and other objects displaying the current hour, minute, and second, the need for personal instruments dedicated solely to timekeeping is similarly close to nil.
