Section: Government and Politics - The red-clad demonstrators have pledged to stage three more mass rallies in Bangkok to put pressure on the government, the Bangkok Post reports.

They will also seek a royal pardon to bring back convicted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, supporters decided at a rally last night.

According to police, about 27,000 red shirt demonstrators gathered at a rally led by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) at Sanam Luang from late yesterday afternoon.

UDD leaders took turns addressing the crowd until heavy rain forced a break for about an hour.
