Sue Heath is Professor of Sociology at the University of Southampton. The practitioner focus in Researching young people's fives contrasts with Gill Jones's more epistemological approach in Youth. While both books address the field's porous interdisciplinary boundaries and the contemporary theoretical debates in the social sciences, Heath's book focuses on contemporary issues and is more an exposition of how youth research works in practice.
