This summer is shaping up to be quite "interesting" in the various rescue disciplines. Between the economy, and as of this writing date, concerns about the latest outbreak of the swine flu, both will have an influence on what people are doing for recreation and will go a fair ways in shaping what our respective rescue seasons will be like. With that in mind, here are three very different books about various aspects of the wide world of rescue.
First up is a most pleasant surprise as well as being an enjoyable read: Last Chance Rescue: A Story of Rescue and Romance in the Rocky Mountains. The author, U.S. National Guard Flight Paramedic Tracey Cramer-Kelly, reached out to me by e-mail and pitched her self-published book. She explained it was a cross between a modern-day romance and a rescue tale.
