WASHINGTON -- More than half of 74 women with serious mental illness perceived that menopause made their conditions worse, Dr. Martha Sajatovic reported in a poster presentation at a meeting sponsored by the International Association for Women's Mental Health.
Prior studies have suggested that menopause is associated with declining clinical outcomes among women with mental illness, said Dr. Sajatovic of Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland.
