Torigoe and Munoz awarded MTNA-PTG Scholarships.(Association News)(Judy Torigoe and Mandy Munoz)(Brief article)
The 2009 winners of the MTNA-PTG Scholarships are Judy Torigoe, who received the MTNA-PTG Recreational Music Making Workshop scholarship, and Mandy Munoz, who received the MTNA-PTG Teacher Continuing Education and/or Performance Study scholarship.
Torigoe, NCTM, received a bachelor's degree in music at Northeastern Illinois University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is a private piano teacher and currently teaches eight private students and 14 recreational music making students. Torigoe is the certification chair for the Northern Arizona MTA. She has played many solo and ensemble performances and has acted as an adjudicator for many competitions and festivals.
