The first case of H1N1 influenza (commonly known as swine flu) was reported in Sri Lanka yesterday. The patient was an eight year old child who had arrived here from Australia on Sunday [14 June]. The case was detected by the health authorities at around 4.00pm yesterday, and steps were taken to keep the patient isolated at the IDH in Angoda with special medical arrangements.
