Ismat Jahan, ambassador and permanent representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, has been appointed country's next ambassador to Belgium. A Foreign Ministry release on Monday [15 June] confirmed this appointment.

A career diplomat Ismat Jahan was appointed permanent representative of to the UN on 14 May 2007.

The ambassadorial position in Belgium remained vacant after envoy A.H.M. Moniruzzaman went into retirement on 31 December 2008. …
