Olympian powers of recovery.
The early figures from Imex pointing to record attendance last month in Frankfurt (p9) are among the encouraging signs as the second quarter of the year comes to a close. But surely talk of an actual recovery is premature even for the most optimistic in this industry? C&IT caught up with the top five agencies ranked by event-based turnover in its State of the Industry update (p11), who point to the 2012 Olympics as the primary catalyst to full recovery.
Yet, the month's shock departure was at Visit London, where commercial director of six years, David Hornby, left to seek new challenges in the build-up to 2012 (p7). ...
