LOYALIST SETTLEMENT EXPERIENCE 225

The Bay of Quinte Branch is pleased to host the Dominion Conference in conjunction with the 225th Anniversary of the landing of the Loyalists at Adolphustown, Ontario. Adolphustown was the site of the first landing of Ontario Loyalists 16 June 1784 and the first site of the official UEL Centennial Celebrations in 1884. The Quinte area is steeped in Loyalist heritage and traditions. This conference offers you a chance to get back to where it all started.
Accommodations will be at Napanee's new Hampton Inn, 40 Macpherson Drive, Napanee, Ontario, off Highway 401, including a continental breakfast each morning. Napanee is easily accessible by car, bus or train. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance . For the more adventurous, camping is available at the United Empire Loyalist Heritage Centre and Park located at Adolphustown, the home of much of the weekend activity.
Thursday, 11 June 2009 ~ Registration and the Genealogy & Membership Workshops will take place at Hampton Inn, Napanee. There will be a Welcome Reception starting at 7:00 p.m. at Greater Napanee's new $9.8 million Strathcona Paper Centre located next to the hotel. The Centre opened 1 September 2004,
Friday, 12 June 2009 ~ two daytime options will be available for guests.
Option One: a bus tour along the Loyalist Parkway, including the Queen Elizabeth Gates, Fairfield House in Amherstview, Fairfield-Gutzeit House, a walking tour and luncheon in Bath. After lunch we continue along the Loyalist Trail to Sandhurst, stop at two wineries and finish with a tour of the United Empire Loyalist Heritage Centre and Park.
