We are fortunate to have so many tools for communicating today. I often wonder how Loyalists were able to receive news as efficiently as they did and the consequences as to whether or not they received news in a timely fashion.
In this issue of The Loyalist Gazette we have an example of discovery and efficient communication to connect research from diverse sources to describe three known Loyalists by the name "Henry Young UE".
The series of six articles under the umbrella heading, "O Henry !!! Which One Are You ???", begins by describing the history of the Palatines from Germany, written by Joan Lucas UE. Once this stage is set, the Jung [or Young] Palatine family is introduced, with emphasis on two individuals, Hendrich Jung and Theobald Jung, thought to be brothers. Bernard C. Young then describes Henry Young [Jung, Jongh], son of Hendrick Jung and father of the Loyalist, Pte. Henry Young UE of the 2nd Battn, King's Royal Rangers, who is then described in an article written by Peter Johnson. This leads to a description of the Loyalist, Private Henry Young UE of "Butler's Rangers, grandson of Theobald Jung [Young]. The series concludes with a brief description of Lieutenant Henry Young UE ...
