Section: Business News - Thailand's exports of electronic components and agricultural produce to Asean and China are now getting a boost after the region's Cross Border Transport Agreement (CBTA) officially took effect on June 11, says the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), the Bangkok Post reports.

With the total length of 270 kilometres, Road Number 1 running from Thailand's Mukdahan to Savannaket in Laos would facilitate shipments from Thailand to Vietnam and China. It will also connect with a Thai-built road in Burma to the Indian Ocean on the west.
