MUKDAHAN : A new regional transport route linking Thailand, Laos and Vietnam will boost trade and tourism links in the region, the government believes.

The road runs through four immigration checkpoints in the three countries, one in Mukdahan, two in Savannakhet and one in Vietnam.

Thailand, Laos and Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on Aug 23, 2007, to ease immigration and customs procedures for goods transported through each other's border checkpoints. Inauguration ceremonies were held simultaneously at the border crossings of the three nations on June …
