Summertime, and the living is about to get a whole lot easierthanks to some truly innovative new beauty products. We asked cosmetic chemist Jim Hammer how they work.
Liquid Keratin 30 Day Straight at-home treatment
WHAT IT CLAIMS: To keep hair straight and frizz-free for 30 days.
WHAT AN EXPERT SAYS: "Its key ingredientskeratin, amino acids, and siliconeadhere to the surface of the hair, forming a smooth, uniform coating," says Hammer. "The film will last about 30 days and eventually wear off."
WHAT WE SAY: The treatment took about an hour and a half, but it did make our hair pin-straight and frizz-free. After we washed it a few times, our hair remained smooth, but we needed our dryer and iron to get it flat.
