Many years ago I made a collection call to a past due account in Philadelphia on a lazy Friday afternoon. The accounts payable clerk answered the phone and I told her who I was and that I wanted to check the status of several past due invoices.
She said she was sorry, but all of her invoices blew away.
I said, "Come again." And she again told me the wind blew away all the invoices. I said something like, "Sure and I've got a bridge for sale in Brooklyn that we should talk about. Now what's the real story?"
She said, "Well, things haven't been going so well and we got behind on our rent. So, this morning, these giant guys came into the office and moved everything out into the parking lot--desks, chairs, file cabinets ... all kinds of things. I have a phone cord dangling out the third floor window so we can continue to take ...
