from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency PUTRAJAYA, June 5 (Bernama) -- By January 2011, "Pain As the Fifth Vital Sign" will be implemented in all government hospitals, Director-General of Health Tan Sri Datuk Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said today.

He said this was part of the five vital signs project to promote nurse- patient and doctor-patient interaction and improve patient satisfaction.

The other vital signs are blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate and temperature.
