AMERICA'S SWEETHEART
I've seen some of my favorite divas on VOGUE's covers, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, and PenA[c]lope Cruz, but I have never been so elated as I was when I saw the vivacious, gorgeous, glamorous Hollywood princess and true star Anne Hathaway ["The Awakening," by Sally Singer, photographed by Mario Testino, January]. It wasn't the Devil but rather the beauty who wore Prada, as VOGUE's very own cover girl, posing with a zillion-dollar smile.

The article on Anne Hathaway was very revealing. Her remarks about vegetarianism, like "I never eat anything with a face," combined with her other clichA[c]d comments, exposed her as the true airhead she plays in movies. So much for celebrity intelligence; there is no such thing.
